수업 소개
In this one-time course, students will learn how to decorate their own delicious and beautiful cookies. They will be picture-perfect! This class will only focus on making the royal icing and various decorating techniques. Students MUST bring their own pre-baked and cooled cookies for class. I recommend sugar cookies or gingerbread cookies. They can be in any shape! If you're not sure what shape to make, I recommend simple circle cookies. In this interactive class, we will first make royal icing using meringue powder. Then we will pick two additional colors that we want to use for the icing, in addition to white. Next, we will carefully outline the cookies and then "flood" them with icing. Students will also learn about the "wet-on-wet" technique to make polka dots and the "feathering" technique. The teacher will be modeling each step with learners as we go through the cookie decorating process. Let me know if you have any questions!

Ingredients: - BAKED sugar cookies (or gingerbread) - meringue powder (you can buy this from Amazon, craft stores like Michael's, or large grocery stores like Walmart/Target/Wegman's) - confectioners sugar - vanilla extract - water - food coloring - sprinkles (optional, any color or type) Kitchen Equipment: - stand or handheld electric mixer - baking sheets or wire racks - measuring cups - measuring spoons - rubber spatula - small spoons (3) - small bowls (3) - piping bags (preferred) or plastic snack bag (Ziploc or other) - scissors - toothpicks or cookie scribe - paper towels

I am also a National Board Certified Teacher (generalist, middle childhood).
