Welcome to Baby Animals Exploration, where young minds embark on an enchanting journey into the world of adorable creatures and their fascinating life cycles. Through interactive discussions and engaging storytelling, this class is designed to ignite curiosity and foster a deep connection with the natural world.

In this class, students will embark on a captivating voyage through the stages of life for baby animals. From the moment parent animals prepare for their offspring to the remarkable milestones of growth and development, every step of the journey will be explored with wonder and excitement.

Throughout the sessions, students will learn about the various ways parent animals care for their young, the gestation periods of different species, the miracle of birth, and the gradual progression towards independence. 

Each class will culminate with a guided illustration session, where students can express their newfound knowledge and creativity through art.

One of the primary objectives of this class is to help children develop a sense of connectivity with the natural world. By comparing and contrasting animal families with their own, students will gain a deeper appreciation for the diversity of life on our planet. Through this exploration, they will not only learn about baby animals but also discover how their own lives are intertwined with the broader web of life.

March 22nd: Rabbit
Baby rabbits, known as kits, are born hairless and blind. They depend entirely on their mother for warmth and nourishment in their underground burrow. As they grow, they develop fur and their eyesight, eventually becoming independent and exploring the world around them.

March 29th: Chicken
Baby chickens, called chicks, hatch from eggs after a period of incubation. They are born with soft downy feathers and instinctively peck at food and explore their surroundings. Chicks require warmth and protection from predators, often staying close to their mother hen for safety.

April 5th: Fox
Fox kits are born in dens underground, usually in litters of four to six. They are born blind and deaf, relying on their mother's care and milk for survival. As they grow, they become more adventurous, learning to hunt and explore their woodland habitat.

April 12th: Deer
Fawns are born with white spots to help camouflage them in their forest environment. They are capable of standing and walking shortly after birth, but they stay hidden in vegetation while their mother forages for food. Fawns nurse from their mother and gradually learn to graze on vegetation as they grow.

April 19th: Robin
Baby robins hatch from eggs in a nest built by their parents. Initially, they are featherless and helpless, relying entirely on their parents for warmth and food. As they grow, they develop feathers and quickly learn to hop around the nest, preparing for their first flights.

April 26th: Chipmunk
Chipmunk pups are born in burrows underground, usually in litters of four or five. They are born blind and hairless, completely dependent on their mother for warmth and nourishment. As they grow, they become more active and curious, exploring their surroundings and learning to gather food.

May 3rd: Black Bear
Black bear cubs are born in dens during the winter months and emerge in spring. They are born blind, hairless, and weigh only a few hundred grams. Mother bears fiercely protect and nurture their cubs, teaching them essential survival skills like foraging and climbing.

May 10th: Sheep
Lambs are born after a gestation period of around five months. They are precocial, meaning they are born fully furred and able to stand and walk shortly after birth. Lambs stay close to their mother for warmth and protection and nurse on her milk until they are weaned.

May 17th: Red-Tailed Hawk
Hawk chicks, known as eyasses, hatch from eggs in a nest high in a tree or on a cliff ledge. They are born with a thick coat of downy feathers and are entirely dependent on their parents for food and protection. As they grow, they become more active and eventually learn to fly and hunt.

May 24th: Frog
Frog tadpoles hatch from eggs laid in water and undergo metamorphosis, gradually developing into adult frogs. They start as tiny aquatic creatures with gills and a tail, eventually growing legs and lungs as they transition into fully formed frogs capable of living on land.

May 31st: Whale
Whale calves are born underwater after a gestation period of several months to over a year, depending on the species. They are born tail-first to prevent drowning and are immediately able to swim alongside their mother. Whale calves nurse on their mother's milk and grow rapidly in their aquatic environment.
