**Currently not teaching due to moving internationally**
Hello all! I have a Master's degree in education and am a homeschooling mom to 3 boys. I've known since I was a child that I wanted to be a teacher and have been teaching for over two decades in a variety of ways. The different experiences I've had educating people occurred while I was a swim instructor, nature day camp counselor, substitute teacher, and a teacher at our homeschool cooperative. Some of my favorite topics I've taught include fractions, patterns, beaver ponds, Legos used as reading comprehension skills, Australian marsupials and monotremes, and pirate geography. I have also been an online ESL teacher for the last 4 years. My favorite part about teaching is helping students gain an understanding of topics they're struggling with. Helping guide children to the "light bulb moment" is so rewarding. I believe that learning should be fun, and interactive, that questions should be asked, and knowledge shared. It shouldn't be just a teacher standing in front of students talking information at them, there should be a give and take. and conversation taking place between the teacher and the students. Questions should be asked by the teacher and the students. Information should be presented in a fun, easy to understand manner. Being married to an Aussie, Australia, especially the animals there, is one of my favorite topics to teach about. My favorite Australian animal is a Cassowary.  For fun, I love to spend time with my children, read books, play different board games, swim, and watch movies.
