Learners will improve their reading and writing skills while having fun and remaining engaged. 

Learners will learn to use and practice skills used in independent writing, reflect on their written work, and make revisions to create a final, polished sentence, paragraph, or essay. They will also learn about the planning (pre-writing) and writing process. 

Learners will learn to use and practice skills used in independent reading such as decoding, monitoring comprehension, inferring, and even conducting a deeper analysis of fiction and nonfiction pieces.

I am certified to teach grades 7-12 (middle and high school level) English/Language Arts in the state of Texas. I have taught 7th grade English for about three years. I also have two years experience tutoring all subjects to high schoolers. This includes language arts, college entrance exam prep (SAT), essay writing, and the college admissions process.

Initial assessment will occur in the first class meeting or prior to it in the form of an overall evaluation. Formal assessment will occur when applicable in the form of a final product, such as fully revised and edited essay, story, or book report.
