In this FLEX class, learners will enjoy videos, slide-show presentations, games and activities to grow their knowledge of a new language. Students will learn the alphabet, numbers and key vocabulary words and phrases. Students will enjoy a weekly video presentation that they can watch as many times as they would like to increase their skills and retention of new signs. Students will be able to sign the alphabet and communicate in American Sign Language.
I am a state certified teacher with an ESL endorsement and nearly a decade of experience teaching ASL to young learners. I have studied Sign Language Interpreting at Oakland Community College in Michigan and went on the further my studies at St. Clair College in Windsor. I also grew up with a deaf neighbor and through our friendship developed skills and a love for American Sign Language. I have always been fascinated with the story of Helen Keller and have always wanted to communicate with others who live in a silent world. Please feel free to enroll in my Helen Keller class to further intrigue your learner to understand my fascination with being able to communicate without words.
