In this 5 lesson course we will learn about photography composition! I will be demonstrating the projects and in a series of videos & slideshows. Lesson 1:What is Composition? Rule of Thirds This lesson we will learn about composition and how it can improve our photography. This lesson we will examine our first type of composition: Rule of Thirds! Students will then shoot their own examples of this composition. Lesson 2: Rule of Odds & Triangle Composition This week we will look at two types of composition: Rule of Odds & Triangle Composition. Here students are looking at odd grouping of objects in their photography and why our brain likes those types of groupings! Students will then shoot their own examples of this composition. Lesson 3: Leading Lines & Strong Diagonal This lesson we will look at two types of composition: Leading Lines & Strong Diagonal. This lesson students will examine the impact of lines in photographs and how that impacts visual movement in their images. Students will then shoot their own examples of this composition. Lesson Four: Point of View This lesson we will look at one type of composition: Point of View. This lesson students will examine the impact of changing the vantage point of the camera. Our brain is used to seeing most images at standing height- what happens when we take a new point of view?Students will then shoot their own examples of this composition. Lesson Five: Framing This lesson we will look at one type of composition: Framing. This lesson students will look at different ways to frame their subject for emphasis. Students will then shoot their own examples of this composition. Students should have prior knowledge of how to operate the camera they are using. Tips and tricks will be given but this course will not focus on camera operation.

I have taught a variety of courses over my career such as: Fine Arts 1 & 2, Introduction to Photography, Pottery 1 & 2, Introduction to Jewelry, Introduction to Crafts, Introduction to Sculpture, Design 1 & 2.
I believe creating art is a process. It takes making a mess, mistakes and trying again! Creating art is a method of communication with the world!
