수업 소개

영어 수준 - 알 수 없음
미국 2학년 - 5학년 학년
레벨 Beginner - Intermediate
In this self-paced ESL course, learners will go on a global adventure, “visiting” a new country each week while building their English language skills through fun, interactive lessons. Each week introduces a different country, culture, and set of vocabulary words through engaging video instruction, colorful slides, printable activities, and creative challenges that students can complete at their own pace.

What Will Be Taught?
	•	Weekly themed vocabulary (foods, animals, greetings, landmarks, weather, etc.)
	•	Common English sentence structures (e.g., “In Mexico, they eat tacos” or “The camel lives in the desert.”)
	•	Basic geography and cultural knowledge about 8 unique countries
	•	Speaking and pronunciation practice using sentence frames and key phrases

Class Structure:

Each week includes:
	•	A 10–15 minute pre-recorded video lesson taught by me, covering the week’s country, vocabulary, and English sentences
	•	A passport worksheet to complete with fun facts and language practice
	•	A vocabulary list with audio pronunciation support
	•	A speaking prompt or mini video challenge (optional but encouraged)
	•	A cultural activity (like drawing a flag, creating a mini menu, or finding animals on a map)
	•	A simple quiz or game to review what they’ve learned

Learners can move through the materials anytime during the week, and they’re encouraged to post their speaking videos or completed activities in the classroom to share with me and their classmates.

Teaching Style:

My teaching style is warm, visual, and highly supportive—perfect for ESL learners. I use repetition, clear language, TPR (Total Physical Response), and visuals to support understanding. I also scaffold content so students can gradually move from vocabulary words to complete English sentences with confidence.

Interaction & Feedback:

Though this is a self-paced class, I provide ongoing, personalized feedback to learners who post their responses in the classroom. I check the classroom several times each week to give encouragement, celebrate student work, and offer pronunciation or sentence support where needed. Learners can interact with me directly in the class comments and are welcome to share drawings, videos, or voice recordings as part of their weekly activities.

This class offers a low-pressure, high-fun learning environment where ESL learners can build confidence in both their English skills and their understanding of the world!

교사 전문성 및 자격증
As a TESOL-certified educator with a PhD in Education specializing in Language Pedagogy, I bring both academic expertise and real-world experience to every lesson I teach. With over 7 years of teaching ESL to young learners, I’ve developed a deep understanding of how children acquire language—and how to make that journey joyful and effective.

During my 7 years of teaching ESL, I’ve taught a variety of general education subjects and electives with an ESL-centered approach. Cultural awareness and history were among the areas I integrated regularly, helping students understand not just the English language, but also the diverse cultures that shape our world. These experiences have allowed me to design lessons that are both inclusive and globally minded—celebrating heritage while building language skills.

I specialize in creating lessons that are fun, interactive, and confidence-building. I use clear speech, repetition, and Total Physical Response (TPR) to support comprehension, while integrating visual aids and cultural exploration to make language come alive. My approach is rooted in kindness, patience, and creativity, and I’m passionate about helping learners feel safe to take risks and grow.

As a parent to a child with special needs, I also bring a compassionate and flexible teaching style that celebrates progress at every level. In Around the World in English, my goal is to create an engaging, low-pressure environment where ESL learners can build vocabulary, strengthen speaking skills, and discover the beauty of cultures around the globe—all while learning English at their own pace.
