Overview: 
In this engaging 9-week course, students aged 12-17 will embark on a creative journey to learn the fundamentals of architectural drawing by designing their very own dream homes. Through a series of carefully structured modules, learners will develop a small set of architectural plans, including sketches of floor plans, site plans, sections, exterior and interior elevations, roof plans, and more.

Each week focuses on a different aspect of architectural drawing, allowing students to progressively build a comprehensive portfolio of designs. This methodical approach not only introduces the basic elements and types of architectural drawings but also deepens understanding through progressive complexity.

Class Structure

The course is structured around weekly live classes supplemented by video tutorials and assignments posted after each session. Students are expected to engage with these materials over the week, preparing their drawings for the next live class. Notably, the schedule accommodates for holidays in October, November, and December, ensuring the same amount of instructional time with some flexibility in the calendar.


Teaching Methodology

Live Classes: Each week begins with a live session where I introduce the architectural drawing type for the week. During these classes, I explain the purpose and significance of each drawing, detail the elements that must be included, and demonstrate the drawing process. These sessions are designed to prepare students for their independent work during the week.

During the Week

Video Tutorials: 
After each live class, I post video tutorials that break down the drawing process into manageable steps. These tutorials are designed to guide students through the creation of each type of architectural drawing.

Assignments: 
Corresponding assignments are provided with each tutorial to help students apply what they've learned and create their own drawings.
Interactive Feedback: Students use Flipgrid to post questions and share progress on their assignments. This platform allows me to provide daily feedback and additional guidance, ensuring students feel supported as they work independently.
Weekly Review and Peer Feedback:

Live Presentation: 
In the following live class, students present their drawings. This session allows for real-time feedback from both the instructor and peers, which is critical for learning and improvement.

Peer Interaction: 
Each student is encouraged to provide positive and constructive feedback on others' work. This peer review process is integral to learning, fostering a collaborative and supportive learning environment.

Daily Feedback: 
I am available each day to answer questions and provide feedback via Flipgrid, ensuring that students feel supported as they work independently.

Weekly Live Reviews: 
Each student presents their weekly drawings in the live class, receiving both teacher and peer feedback which is crucial for learning and improvement.
Constructive Peer Feedback: Students are required to engage positively with each other, providing constructive critiques that mirror professional architectural reviews.
Technical Requirements: No special software is needed as drawings are created traditionally using graph paper and pencils. Access to Flipgrid, a free educational platform, is required for video interactions and assignment submissions.
