In this ongoing creature class, students will learn about two or more specific weekly animals. Occasionally we might look at the overall family or a group of creatures, too. Students will learn facts about both common and freaky or unusual animals from around the world. Students will learn about the animal's habitat, what their diet is, and much more. There will be a PowerPoint to showcase facts about the animals and photographs along with short videos and/or sounds (if possible) to see the animal. My teaching style is interactive and I like to ask students questions and encourage them to ask me questions (though I will never force a shy student to answer if they don't wish to). At the end of the class, we will have an open discussion about the animal we just learned about though how much time will vary depending on how many questions students asking during the presentation. Students are welcome to bring snacks and their favorite toys too. If they like to draw, they are free to do so, and if time allows, they can share their drawing with the class. No prior knowledge is needed, just a love for learning about animals. Students also can drop in and out as they want. I allow flexibility within the age range, as each learner is unique. If you think your child would be a good fit for the class but is a little younger or older, feel free to email me to ask questions or try one session to see how it goes. A tentative schedule of the topic to discuss weekly are, Week of May 29th- June 4th: Manatee, Dugong, and Vulture Week of June 5th-11th: Parakeets & Crocodiles Week of June 12-19th: Bull Shark & Arctic foxes Week of June 26-July 2:Seals & Sea Lions Week of July 3- 9th: Bald Eagles & Platypus

We will be talking about animals in this class. We will cover topics like what do they eat, how do they hunt, and kill. This could include images or short clips of animals attacking other animals with the goal to kill them, while I will not display any gruesome images, the content could possibly be scary to some children.

Hello everyone!
My name is Ashley. My classes are fun, informative, and engaging, and I genuinely love helping students learn while having fun. My primary goal is to help students use their creativity and curiosity to discover what they truly want to learn about.
I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Sciences (Honors) from the University of Wyoming with a focus on international studies. I have worked with children for almost 5 years as an SPEA for Higher Needs students at a local school district. Currently, I am an online ESL teacher and writer. My teaching style is to provide students with the opportunity to exchange ideas with their peers and take an active role in their learning. I love to encourage students to explore different topics through a variety of methods in a warm and encouraging environment. I encourage questions and speaking during my classes as I believe it is critical for students to do so.
Though I have a wide range of topics I teach, my genuine passion is writing! Writing has always brought me joy because it allows me to use my creativity to share stories with others. I believe that writing should be enjoyable, encouraging, and overall a positive experience. Though I have done writing in many fields, my favorite is writing fiction stories in the fantasy and science fiction genres.
