수업 소개

In this class, one time 90-minutes, What Else Can Anger Be? #5, I will discuss three new activities to help the learner understand their feelings after the anger starts to calm. I will ask more questions regarding managing anger by sharing their experiences. This course #5 completes one of three parts and this class will complete the first part. The learning goals for class #5; Getting to know fear, Getting to know sadness, Getting to know disappointment after anger ends. It is important for learners that have been on this journey to make better choices and show awareness to their anger. This course is designed to improve negative behaviors and apply skills learned from each class to help manage anger .

Based on research (verywellmind.com behavioral psychology), there are four steps for making successful behavior changes: precontemplation, contemplation, preparation, action, and maintenance. I advise using routines and schedules for the learner and getting the family involved by using supports, reminders, and cues when anger arrives. By staying on this journey/course, anger can shift in the right direction over time. Helping the learner move through each stage successfully does require attention and will improve over time. In the precontemplation stage there is no intention to change the behavior in the foreseeable future. Children are unaware of their problems therefore they are in denial. The contemplation stage, children are aware that a problem exists and will think about making better choices, but not trying to use strategies to change. The preparation stage is considered the information gathering and planning stage, this stage is the most important. The action stage is when children are choosing appropriate behaviors, becoming more compliant, and working on to overcome their difficult behaviors. And the maintenance stage is when children/others work to prevent relapse and combine the skills achieved during action stage. For addictive behaviors this stage extends from six months to an indeterminate period past the initial action. As a reminder, anger management for kids does take time to see behavioral changes. The learner must be willing to participate. Prior classes and futures classes are necessary as the learner is trying to make since of why do they repeat the patterns of anger. I encourage parents and caregivers to stick with a consistent behavior routine each time during an altercation or aggression.
학습 목표
I encourage learners to take notes on what is important to practice during each activity. Prior knowledge and skills will be questioned to explore more about their anger and share their experiences with others. I will continue to ask questions during each activity, promote engagement, and provide information new information on behavior management. Learners are given examples of how to practice the activity to reduce anger urges by recognizing body sensations and talk about what they are feeling before the rage and triggers happens. The goal of anger management is to decrease their response to anger and by now increase happiness and joy. In this class, What Else Can Anger Be? #5, I will continue with the routines and structure to allow and encourage learners to engage in the presentation and take notes during guided instruction. Note taking allow learners to start taking action to acknowledge their anger. In each class I provide more information about anger management and how to resolve it. Students can use the chat box and reactions to express themselves. Again, it is important for students to take notes when prompted then practice the activities at home and during anger triggers. Video clips help students to self-reflect their behaviors and practice strategies presented.
