수업 소개
This class is designed for advanced learner who have a strong understanding of American Sign Language (ASL). If you are not sure we can always do a 1:1 assessment. Throughout this course, a relaxed yet engaging learning environment is fostered. In addition to traditional instruction methods, I incorporate games, music, and various other pedagogical tools to maximize student retention and engagement. To enhance the learning experience, it is recommended that students utilize a computer or tablet during class, as using a phone is not advisable unless necessary. To facilitate communication proficiency, students will be encouraged to interact with one another via Zoom to enhance their understanding of ASL when conveyed through sign language. Break-out rooms will also provide opportunities for learners to get to know one another and collaborate on group activities. By the end of the class, learners will have improved their vocabulary, grammar, and sentence structure in ASL, as well as their storytelling and conversation abilities. Stories we will be doing "The Ant and The Grasshopper" "The City Mouse and Country Mouse" "The Ant and The Butterfly" "The Farmer, The Son, and The Donkey" "The Crow and The Pitcher" Two different types of ABC stories. Over a decade of experience teaching American Sign Language and working within the Deaf community, I have developed a deep understanding of the language and culture. I also lead a music and movement program in my local community and teach American Sign Language at various preschools. In addition, my experience with a hard-of-hearing daughter has further fueled my passion for teaching ASL.
My teaching style emphasizes creating an engaging and enjoyable learning experience while fostering a love for learning.
