This is an actual language course with the goal of the student to gain skills in understanding and using American Sign Language. It's a fun class that includes games, activities and online practice exercises and gives each student resources to use both during the class and afterwards as well. Students in this class will broaden their knowledge of American Sign Language vocabulary and gain an introductory knowledge of translating English into ASL grammatical order.
I received my A.S. degree in American Sign Language from American River College in Sacramento, CA. I worked in the Deaf community as the full-time Program Director at the Aspen Camp of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing in Aspen, CO and also taught ASL-I and ASL-II at Union College in Lincoln, NE for five years.
