***NOTE: I will always teach. If the class has one student, I will still teach!*** We will dip into a bowl of "soup" to discover a different letter each time we meet. We will also pull out different objects beginning with that day's letter. This will help young learners with letter recognition, letter sounds, and initial sound isolation. This is an excellent pre-readiness skill, and I'm so excited to play this fun activity game with your Outschoolers. I believe in having fun while learning and giving every student a chance to make the letter sounds and say the object names. We will do this through game play. It is my goal for all students to participate. I am bubbly and fun, and it is my hope that your Outschool student feels comfortable and included from the very start of class. I want to build the confidence of each child so they can tackle letters independently. I will manage my class by using the mute buttons when necessary, but there will also be times when we all say a letter name together. Your child does not need any prior knowledge to the alphabet. This class is fun and active. I cannot wait to show your child my rendition of Alphabet Soup!

My name is Teacher Kender! I obtain the following: BA in theatre, early childhood certification, elementary certification grades 1-6, and a master's degree in elementary reading. The most fun I have while teaching is when I can combine the two. I love digging into books and exploring the characters. I always read with crazy expression and sound effects. My read alouds are exciting and fun! I can teach your child to read, and I can teach them how to perform well in an audition. My available classes list will vary because of my love of the theatre and my passion for lower elementary. I was a classroom teacher for six years. All six of those years were spent teaching first grade. I taught ESL online for 5 years, and I have been teaching a variety of classes on Outschool since the summer of 2020. It is my philosophy that more is caught than taught. So, being a good example for your children is key. Surrounding them with others who instill respect, knowledge, and common sense is vital. Finding a teacher who can bring information to them in an exciting and fun way so that it sticks for a lifetime... that is priceless. Let's do this! See you in the classroom.
