🦋🐛🦋🐛🦋🐛🦋🐛🦋🐛🦋 In this one time class, the students will listen to a non fiction book during the "research" part of the class. Together we will brainstorm caterpillar and butterfly facts and discuss the life cycle of a butterfly. During the directed drawing portion of the class, the students will draw and color a butterfly life cycle and add non fiction labels. They will share the butterfly with their classmates, if they feel comfortable doing so. The finished ALL ABOUT BUTTERFLIES research project will be admired by everyone!

Hi! Welcome to my Outschool classroom.
My name is Betty Nilssen. 💕
I have a BS in Elementary Education with a minor in Spanish from UW-Milwaukee. I am a first grade teacher, but I have also taught second, third and fourth grade, full inclusive classrooms. My teaching license certifies me to teach grades 1~6. My passion for teaching reading while incorporating phonics, phonemic awareness, rhyming, comprehension, fluency, vocabulary, science, social studies, math, drawing and writing helps children strengthen their academic skills while they gain academic confidence and a love of learning. Teaching reading is my super power. I can support your young learner.
I have three adult daughters and two of them are teachers. My mom was also an educator.
There are so many books to read, words and sentences to write, math equations to solve and fiction and non fiction pictures to draw and label. Let's get started!
