--identifying and describing parallel lines in graph and equation form
--identifying and describing perpendicular lines in graph and equation form
--Converting between standard and slope-intercept equation form
--Graphing a line given slope and 1 point
--Graphing a line given 2 points

I am a certified teacher with a Masters Degree in Teaching and over 20 years of classroom, small group and one-on-one experience. Teaching math to middle schoolers has been my focus for the past 4 years, and I have taught this specific Middle School Algebra course multiple times.

Homework will be assigned weekly and will consist of practice problems on Nearpod, Desmos, Jamboard, PDF worksheets, pages in the workbook (link in supply list), as well as the weekly math special assignment. This homework will be in addition to watching the video slide presentations and completing the corresponding Nearpod lessons. The total weekly time students will need to spend working on this class should be around 4-6 hours (2-3 hours on videos and lessons, 2-3 hours on homework and posting special assignments) All homework, videos and lessons will be posted to the Outschool Classroom.

Ongoing informal assessment through interactive student activities and responses, as well as monitoring student classwork and homework. Weekly lesson quizzes and a final unit test at the end of the session will also be given. Parents, please contact me about the level of assessment and feedback you prefer for your student.
