Welcome to Aesop’s Fables Story Time! Aesop’s collection of fables have been told for over 2,500 years, and the lessons hidden within each story are as applicable today as the day they were written. I’m excited to share them with you! Each week, I will read to you one of Aesop’s fables, and we will look at a beautiful illustration that corresponds with the fable. After we finish the story we will discuss with our friends the lesson of the fable - lessons like loyalty, generosity, friendship, and the importance of working hard in the face of adversity! Students will learn the moral of each story, as well as receive a list of unfamiliar vocabulary words contained within each story. Week 1, August 20: The Hare and the Tortoise Week 2, August 28: The Frog and the Ox Week 3, September 5: The Wolf and the Crane Week 4, September 12: The Mice in Council Week 5, September 17: The Lion in Love Week 6, September 22: The Peacock’s Complaint
