This class will cover The Hobbit reading comprehension questions and full discussion. There will be games, slides, and video clips to keep learners engaged and having fun! While learners do not need to have any prior experience, it is expected that students can read and complete assignments during the week. I have a Bachelor's Degree in English with a minor in math. I am a certified teacher and have taught this novel for several years in public school. Please let me know if you have any questions regarding the type of material that will be covered. While none of the discussions will revolve around drinking or smoking, we will have discussions connecting Goblins to WWI and mass graves from a historical perspective.

We will be watching scenes from the movie which may include battle scenes, smoke rings, and drinking. There are also drinking and smoking mentioned in scenes of the novel. Gollum is a scary creature with an evil temperament at times. The novel does include magic as part of the fantasy world. If this is uncomfortable for your family, it's a great opportunity to address your family's beliefs in regard to magic.
The Hobbit by J.R.R. Tolkien, Kahoot, a special class code using quia.org for quizzes and data, and YouTube videos.
