Welcome to the 1st Brown Belt class! I’m so excited to continue working with your children and watch them grow. Here’s what you can expect from me and the class: Each belt cycle is roughly three months. For this cycle, your karate student will start at 1st Brown Belt and work to earn their 2nd Brown Belt. We will learn new kicks, new Japanese terminology, re-learn Pinan Shodan & Pinan Nidan, and continue reviewing for their upcoming black belt tests. As always, we will do monthly check-ins to make sure everyone is on track to reach their belt goals. When they meet the requirements of each check-in they will earn a stripe on their belt. If I notice anyone is struggling and needs extra practice, I will reach out to you and let you know. They are more than welcome to schedule additional private lessons with me. In the last week of this class, your martial artist will be ready to test for their 2nd Brown Belt. The test will be on the last Tuesday and the graduation will be on the last Thursday of this class. During the graduation, we will have a final performance for all the grown ups to demonstrate what we've learned and I will need your help to present them their 2nd Brown Belts and certificates!

Students will need to wear their karate uniform and belt, have an open area so they can move around, and a bottle of water nearby! While we will definitely warm up and stretch in class, students are encouraged to stretch beforehand as well.
