Ocean Acidification
Lab: Ocean acidification and the impact on calcium shells and coralite skeletons.
More detail available in the class experience section, but in summary, the class will strive to give learners a greater understanding of what coral reefs are, their importance in the environment, how they are formed, what can harm them, and the important interconnections of plants and animals in the reef ecosystem.
I am a retired marine biologist and avid reef aquarist.  I am part of a group in North Carolina dedicated to reef farming and sustainable reef keeping, as well as working with NOAA and NASA on their reef mapping programs online.

Learners will complete activities and projects each week. The videos will take approximately 1 hour each to complete, and another hour to complete research and completion of tasks should be appropriate. Vocabulary lists for new and challenging words will be provided. Pre-and post quizzes are available and will be graded and gone over with learner upon request.
