This is a group ACT Reading Prep workshop class. We will cover both strategies and content for success on the exam. The ACT Reading section covers speed and comprehension. Students will learn reading strategies that will help them beyond the test. What does this mean for students? With instruction and practice, students can improve both their understanding and confidence with reading quickly with purpose for not just the test, but higher level academic reading as well. The session will be a combination of lecture and practice. Students will be introduced to all the content and strategies of the test. They will practice the skill and concepts throughout the session. Students will need to download the notebook so they can participate, mark up, and add notes as we move through the content. Students will also have two practice tests for continued practice after the session. Students have to option of scheduling one-on-one sessions if they would like continued guided practice and corrections.

Students will gain both skill and confidence needed to be successful on both the ACT Reading Exam and higher level academic reading.

Please be sure to print the attached files and put them in a notebook before the session. Students should also have highlighters, pens, pencils, and notecards.
