In this class we will be learning about the painting style called pointillism that was created by French painter Georges Seurat. We will be learning about his life and viewing examples of his artwork for the beginning portion of the class (first 15 minutes) For the duration of the class ( 45 minutes) we will work on creating our own dot painting on canvas using acrylic paint. Items needed for this class: Paper plate 3 Q tips Medium sized paint brush 8x10 canvas or illustration board/paper Pencil Acrylic paint colors: red, blue, green, yellow, white, orange Note: Your child can choose to use any acrylic paint colors they desire we will be focusing mainly on the technique so each painting can be unique and individual.

Students will learn beginner painting techniques for acrylic painting. They will also learn a specific style of painting called pointillism and all about the artist that created that style. By the end of class students should have a completed dot painting that expresses their creativity.
