**PLEASE NOTE** This is a SELF-PACED class and is PRE-RECORDED. THIS MEANS STUDENTS WILL WATCH THE PRE-RECORDED VIDEO. There are no live meetings. There are no live meetings. All interactions between students and the teacher will happen on the class page. This class will be presented via powerpoint and pre-recorded drawing instruction. Students will upload images of their assignments for the teacher to see and comment on. This is particularly important if a final grade is required for homeschool or charter school credit. Why Self-Paced? *MY Self-Paced classes ALWAYS cost less than the live versions of the same class! *Self-Paced classes are an excellent choice for families with busy schedules. *Content is exactly the same as live classes, at a lower fee. *Students can work at an independent pace. *Self-Paced classes are fantastic for international students whose time zone doesn't match the teacher's (US Mountain Time), *Self-Paced classes are a great alternative for students who are uncomfortable with live video chat. Our Self-Paced format will be as follows: Content: Video demonstration of the process will be posted. Videos will vary in length depending on the type of art being presented. Some may be as short as 10 or 15 minutes while others could be ½ hour or more. Student work is expected to take anywhere from 40 minutes to an hour, depending upon the student’s preferred pace. Drawing Assignments: Students spend time completing their artwork and submit it via the classroom. Submit Assignment: Students are required to post photos of their completed artwork in the classroom on the designated post. Keep in mind, uploading artwork for the teacher to see is important for assessment and feedback. Detailed information regarding the content of each session can be found in the syllabus.

Canvas panel (8X19 or 9X12) OR very heavy watercolor paper Pencil and eraser White, pink and light blue colored pencils Acrylic/acrylic craft paints in light and medium blues (Craft Smart craft paint works fine and is inexpensive, but tube acrylics work well) Acrylic/acrylic craft paints in pink, light pink, brown, and white (same types as above) Brushes: Large for background; medium for painting cat, small for nose, VERY small, like size 0 or00 for painting whiskers and snowflakes. Bowl of water newspaper to protect surface **STRONGLY recommended: Acrylic paint markers in white (POSCA brand is great, but a little expensive; Artistro paint pens can be found in a 5-pack on Amazon for around $10- this is what I use)
