In this one-time class, I will be teaching learners how to tune their guitars using a clip-on, stand-alone, smartphone, or online electronic guitar tuner. Students are encouraged to bring their own tuner if they already have one, but I will be providing links to free online and smartphone guitar tuners as well, so bring a smartphone along to use as a tuner too! When this class is over, each learner will be able to tune their own guitar by themselves using their own choice of guitar tuner.
I've been playing the guitar for over 30 years, and I still use a guitar tuner to this day. I've used many different kinds of tuners over the years, and I'm confident that I can get my guitar in tune with pretty much any tuner I get my hands on.
No prerequisites needed - this class is for absolute beginners! However, learners will need an acoustic guitar, or an electric guitar plugged into an amplifier so I (and the rest of the class) can hear the notes they play.

If you have your own tuner already, bring it to class, but it's not required - you'll have access to an online tuner by the end of the class. Also, if you think you'll want to use your smartphone as a guitar tuner, bring it along to class as well and I'll give resources for phone tuner apps.
