The lessons presented in this course are displayed as Nearpod lessons. I share my screen during the lessons so students can follow along regardless of whether or not they are able to log into Nearpod but they will enjoy a much more interactive experience if they can enter and follow the lesson through Nearpod. To enter each Nearpod activity, they will have to click on a link I post for them in the chat box during our Zoom meet. This will enable them answer pop up questions and activities throughout the lesson that I can monitor from my screen. Relevant YouTube videos which add to the content of each lesson will appear within the presentations, sometimes with embedded questions for students to answer as they view.

I have been a New York State certified foreign language teacher educating students in the Spanish language, the history and culture of Spain and Latin American in the public school system for over sixteen years. I have a Masters of Science degree in Secondary Spanish studies. The culture classes that I teach at the high school level are part of a college advantage program where students in my high school culture classes simultaneously receive college credit with St. John's University. These classes focus on the history, culture and geography of the various Latin American countries. I have also studied in and traveled extensively throughout Latin America. I look forward to sharing the details of my own Latin American adventures whenever possible throughout the duration of this course.
