In this 4-week, twice a week class, students will learn and practice close reading and analysis skills needed for Poetry through lecture, guided discussion, and group and individual practice. This class will provide direct reading, analysis, and writing instruction in relation to Poetry. As a class, students will work through the process of reading, analyzing, brainstorming, organizing, writing, and editing written responses to the poems they read. As part of this process, students will submit a piece of writing using responsive writing on a text that serves a specific purpose and addresses a particular audience.

The Final Synthesis Questions Writing will be a final assignment due via "Conversation" and will be scored within 48 hours using the scoring Rubric and feedback.
