Dr. Torbert와 함께하는 5학년 수학 - 10주

Greetings Parents/ Guardians, In this course students will either remediate their knowledge and understanding of 5th grade math or accelerate their knowledge of 5th grade math.


This summer camp is designed to help students in four different main domains of math. 

Students will learn four major foundational concepts and tricks to help them to solve questions based on the 4 domains covered.  During the class session, the teacher will engage into a 3-part lesson: “I do, we do, and you do strategy.” The teacher will use the whiteboard, various videos, and a powerpoint for each class session.

Students will be given homework after each session to work on.  
Topics that will be covered in 20 weeks: 

Week 1-3 Numbers and Operation 
Day 1:  Place Value
Day 2: Use parentheses, brackets, or braces in numerical expressions, and evaluate expressions with these symbols. (Understand PEMDAS)

Week 3-5 Fractions
Day 1: Add, Subtract, Multiply and Divide Fractions
Day 2:  Recognize Equivalent Fractions

Week 5-7 Decimals:
Day 1:  Add, Subtract, Multiply and Divide Fractions Decimals
Day 2: Read, write, and compare decimals to thousandths.

Week 7- 9 Number Sense
Day 1: Long Division and Multiplication 
Day 2: Review and Assessment


Week 10: Testing/ Individualized Assessment Plan

As needed, additional math concepts will be shared/taught to the students to support the development of their learning ang growth.
