Week 1Lesson 1IntroductionThis lesson covers the types of nonfiction writing, the writing process, three different types of sentences, and how to write a thesis statement.Lesson 2Persuasive WritingStudents will start a draft of their 1st essay: persuasive writing.Week 2Lesson 3Expository WritingThis lesson covers how to include supporting evidence and reivew transition words/phrases. Students will start a draft of their 2nd essay: expository writing.Week 3Lesson 4Essay Edits (1st Two Essays)This lesson covers the Students will also have time to edit and finalize their first 2 essays.Week 4Lesson 5Personal NarrativesThis lesson covers how to write dialogue. Students will start a draft of their 3rd essay: personal narrative.Week 5Lesson 6Descriptive WritingThis lesson reviews how to use descriptive writing. Students will start a draft of their 4th essay: descriptive writing.Week 6Lesson 7Finalize EssaysStudents will also have time to edit and finalize their last 2 essays.
