Week 1Lesson 1Ice Cream in a BagPractice the scientific method as we change states of matter while making delicious ice cream.Week 2Lesson 2Lemon VolcanoCreate a fun chemical reaction as we mix an acid and base together with our colorful, foaming lemon volcanos!Week 3Lesson 3Phases of the Moon with OreosLearn about the phases of the moon with delicious Oreos.Week 4Lesson 4Edible BubblesUsing different types of candy, we will blow strands of edible bubbles. Lastly, we will experiment with different ingredients in order to make longer lasting bouncing bubbles.
Each week our science journal will have a list of supplies.
Supplies: Balloon, Plastic Bottle, Vinegar, Baking Soda, Funnel, Tissue or Scrap Paper, Vegetable Oil, Salt, 4 Food Colors, Sugar, Half and Half, Vanilla Extract, rock salt (table salt will also work), 1 gallon bag, 1 quart bag, ice, 2-4 Lemons, Dish Soap, Spoon, Tray or Bowl (To catch our messes), Black and White Oreos. Optional: Flavoring such as chocolate or strawberry syrup. A rag or towel.
