My name is Melanie Hughes, and I am an elementary teacher. For the last 30 years, I have taught in public schools teaching K - 5th grades. I have a teacher certification in Early Childhood - 6th grade, a Special Education certification K -12th, and an ESL certification for K-12th grades. As a classroom teacher, I saw the need for small group teaching. In smaller groups, students better understand the objectives through interactions with the teacher and other students. I want to improve each student's reading skills and comprehension of what they read. I love reading, and I want to bring that joy of reading to all my students.
