Welcome to the world of 3D Digital Art: Design and Modeling with TinkerCAD! This course is designed to introduce kids in grades 4-10 to the exciting world of 3D design and architecture. In this program, you will learn how to dream, design, and create your own unique 3D objects, buildings, and even basic characters.

Over the course of five days, you will learn the basics of 3D design and architecture with a focus on designing real-world objects. You will be using TinkerCAD software, which is a user-friendly 3D design tool that is perfect for beginners. You will also work together with other students to engineer cool three-dimensional cityscapes, devices, or gadgets.

This class is designed with a student-centered learning approach with collaborative projects, which means that you will have plenty of opportunities to interact with both the teacher and your peers. We believe that the best way to learn is by doing, and that's why we emphasize hands-on, experiential learning. You will have the chance to work on individual and group projects, which will help you develop your design and problem-solving skills.

Throughout the course, you will learn how to construct detailed 3D images, understand sophisticated software tools like TinkerCAD, and gain an understanding of the principles of creating dynamic and interesting 3D images. You will also learn the concepts of scope, scale, and functionality in design, which will help you create designs that are not only aesthetically pleasing but also practical and functional.

Our class is structured around five three-hour-long class meetings, which will provide you with ample time to learn, practice, and collaborate with others. Each class will consist of a mix of lecture, games, slides, and discussion. There is no prior experience or knowledge required for this course, and all skill levels are welcome.

In terms of teaching style, we believe in creating a supportive and collaborative learning environment where students feel encouraged to take risks and express themselves creatively. Our teaching approach is based on personalized learning, which means that we will tailor the course material to your unique interests and abilities.
Day 1 - students will learn how to navigate Tinker CAD and TinkerCAD, Start Building you first TinkerCAD creation

Day 2 - Students will Sketching our Floor Plan, Building a House, Adding rooms according to sketches

Day 3 - students will Sketch out our second floor and yard, learn about making shapes, start Adding 3 generated shapes as lawn ornaments or features to your yard

Day 4 - students will start Sharing our creations with each other - learn to collaborate and build a village together.

Day 5 - students will Create some creatures or inhabitants for the town using what we’ve learned, learn about constructive feedback and add finishing touches to your projects


By the end of this course, you will have a solid foundation in 3D design and architecture and the confidence to continue exploring this exciting field. You will also have completed several individual and group projects that you can showcase to your family and friends.
