Learners are encouraged to continue using TinkerCAD and creating designs.학습 평가
Teacher will give feedback to learners who are willing to share their designs to help them make sure their projects are right for printing. Teacher cannot guarantee the quality of the print, only make helpful suggestions on good practices for designing for printing. Please note every printer is different and troubleshooting printers in outside the scope of this course. Please note: This class builds on the skills learned in "Getting Started With TinkerCAD"* students should have attended that class or have had some experience creating in Tinkercad before taking this course. If you are unsure please message me and we can work out if your learner is ready for this course. In this one time class learners will build a Snowman or create a winter scene using TinkerCAD 3D design Software (students will need an account created at TinkerCAD.com). The class will review basic shape manipulation, stacking shapes, and best practices for designing to 3D print. Please keep in mind that although I will help students design with 3D printing in mind I cannot guarantee the design will print perfectly as each printer has it's own settings and specifications. I can help with basic design trouble shooting and problem solving. Please note: A 3D printer is not required for this class. Students will create a snowman or winter scene using TinkerCAD 3D design software. Snowmen will be able to be saved as a .STL file which is compatible with most 3D printers in conjunction with a splicer program.

Students will be free to design their own projects and while a Snowman is recommended some students choose to make their own projects. If you would be upset by your student creating something different than the dedicated project please speak with your learner before class.
Although this class is dedicated to building snowmen, from time to time one design sparks an idea for another, so it kids get inspired. As a teacher who values creativity I support students in their personal goals as long as it does not distract from the rest of the class I am happy to support these alternate designs. If your learner has a different project they know they would like to work on or need one on one help with please see my one on one tutoring class or message me for information.

I have taught students in 3rd-5th grade the basics of TinkerCad for several years as part of an interdisciplinary project at my brick and mortar school. I recently presented about this project at the Texas Computer Educators Association Convention in 2020.
