In this course “2nd grade Head Start/ Extra Practice: Foundations of Addition” Students will develop a firm foundation for place value and number sense before adding. I am a certified classroom teacher with a bachelor's degree in Elementary Education. I have taught 2nd grade for 2 years and I completed my internship in 5th grade and Kindergarten classrooms. I am reading endorsed and ESOL endorsed. Being a 2nd grade teacher, I know what math strategies are used in the classroom and what will be expected of your student. I believe small group instruction is incredibly valuable and that by learning 2nd grade concepts early, students will be able to gain a deeper understanding of the content once they are back in the classroom.
