Sentences are great! Words strung together can create powerful stories and poems that captivate the imagination. Sentences can also be confusing. Writing involves a ton of rules on sentence structure and it can all start to feel like a mystery. If your young learner is able to read and has written basic sentences, then this class can help them build their essay writing foundation. Ms. Rae has worked with created writing programs for school students, teaches English to non native speakers, and has tutored college students. She is TESL certified and specializes in working with students who have emotional or mental blocks around writing.

Students will have homework and vocabulary words. Most homework assignments are broken down to no more than 30 minutes a day. The teacher reviews the homework with the students in class. A video of the story will be made available to students should they need to re-read the story outside of class time. A device with a keyboard, working microphone, and a mouse. Using a laptop or computer is ideal.

This class is priced to allow us to run it even if we only have 1 student. While our goal is to help students connect with peers in an online classroom, we also aim to avoid cancelations. This class will run even if only 1 student is registered. In the event that you decide this class is not a good fit, please communicate this with us. Running a group class for only 1 student is costly, and we will happily work with you find a class that is a better fit. Students do not have to be good at typing, but should be comfortable using a mouse and a keyboard. This class does not use paper and pencil. No special accounts need to be created to use Google Docs. Google Docs does not require using any personal identifying information for a minor. No special account is needed for NearPod. Students are provided a link and can use a made up name to access the class activity. No special account is needed for Kahoot.
