The Dungeons and Dragons universe contains several pantheons of deities that may help or harm mortals. The deaths of player characters and/or non-player characters are a possibility in any game of Dungeons and Dragons. I do not intend on it happening, but just as in real life, accidents and tragedies can happen in the fantasy realm.
