US Grade 12
In this class, students will be reading grade level stories with grade level vocabulary to help student gain confidence in their reading, comprehension of the story by ten to fifteen answering questions about the stories. First, the student will read 1-2 stories out loud in class to the teacher, then together we will answer the 10-15 comprehension questions about the stories we just read. We will focus on finding the answers in the stories to help students be able to use their critical thinking skills to remember and scan the passages to find the answers needed to answer the questions fully. Worksheets will be provided for students to use to read the stories along with the teacher and write in their answers to the questions as well. Students can either print out the worksheet to write physically, or use the google doc to write in the stories. I have a Masters degree in teaching and learning with technology, and a Bachelor's degree in organizational management. I have training in behavioral therapy and am able to apply this to all my classes to be able to reach kids of all ages and abilities. I look forward to seeing you in my classroom. I have been working online for about 15 yrs, I have worked as a virtual assistant, online teacher (VIP KID, Outschool, Magic Ears). I love helping students, teachers, and homeschool parents, learn how to make education fun and engaging.
Teaching Style: My teaching style is definitely, I would say, student led. I have learned through parenting my own kids, and teaching other children as well, that kids know what works best for them, helping them find this is a great way to engage them in the learning process.
