In this class, I will use PowerPoint to discuss the components of a basic essay. Topics we will discuss include: - The construction of the thesis statement - How to construct a body paragraph - The introduction and conclusion - Grammar and mechanical issues The student will begin by brainstorming an idea for their essay. The next step will be to construct the thesis, a basic outline, and then, perhaps, I will assign the study do some outside research, if needed. We will cite sources using APA format.
