CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.L.5.1 - Demonstrate command of the conventions of standard English grammar and usage when writing or speaking. CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.RL.6.10 - By the end of the year, read and comprehend literature, including stories, dramas, and poems, in the grades 6-8 text complexity band proficiently, with scaffolding as needed at the high end of the range. CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.L.8.3 - Use knowledge of language and its conventions when writing, speaking, reading, or listening.
I am a certified special education teacher for students in grades K-12, with more than 20 years experience at the elementary and middle school level. I also have a 13yo son with Autism who teaches me the best ways to be a teacher daily.
I am a certified special education teacher, and teach Reading & ELA on a daily basis to a crew of diverse and neurospicy learners. Students under the ASD umbrella, as well as student with attention / ADHD needs and dyslexia are encouraged.
Students should have basic phonemic awareness (letter-sound association). If students have an IEP with specific reading goals, please share those with me prior to the class's first session.
