🌟 1:1 JavaScript/p5.js for Ages 9-14 🌟 🎨 In this personalized 1 on 1 class, your learner will become a creative coder! Together, we’ll design cool projects using p5.js 🖥️. They'll learn the fundamentals of programming—like loops, variables, and debugging—while thinking like a designer 🎮. Each week, coding topics will include: 🔄 Sequencing, loops, and conditionals 🎛️ Variables and sensors 🔍 Debugging, operators, and more! 💡 The 1:1 format ensures maximum interaction and support! We’ll build projects step by step, and your child will get real-time answers to their questions and encouragement to keep going 🚀. 📚 Class Structure: Each session is highly interactive! We’ll begin with a brief introduction to the day’s topic 🎤, followed by coding together step-by-step 🛠️. We'll introduce new concepts, then guide your student as they create their own unique project. Each class wraps up with a review and Q&A session 💬. 🔍 What makes this class unique? In addition to mastering core programming concepts, students will have the opportunity to apply their knowledge in real-world projects, from interactive games to animated stories. The personalized pace allows for deep dives into areas of interest, whether it's enhancing creativity through design or improving technical skills through complex problem-solving. The curriculum adapts to your child's learning speed, ensuring both beginners and experienced coders can thrive. 🌟 🎨 Themes: February 17th-March 16th: Run a Restaurant March 17th -April 13th: Fairy Tales April 14th-May 11th: Extreme Sports June 9th-July 6th: Magical Creatures Please Note: This class runs on a set schedule, with lessons progressing through a 4-week cycle. New learners are welcome to join at any point during the cycle, but they may start partway through an ongoing project. Students will use p5.js to participate in class. Students must access their own p5.js account using a laptop or a computer in class (no smartphone or tablets). Students will use their own account to code while following instructions from the teacher.

Learner Supply List: A free p5.js account at editor.p5js.org 🌐. A laptop or desktop with Zoom installed and screen-sharing enabled 💻. A stable internet connection (3mbps or higher) 🌍. A working speaker, microphone, and webcam 🎤🎥. All Windows and Mac operating systems from the last five years are supported 🖥️. ⚠️ iPads are not recommended. Please have an adult available for the first 5 minutes to assist with setup and troubleshooting.
