*This one session class can be repeated as often as needed with the same session leader.* For kids with ADHD and Autism, we find it is helpful to build connection with the session leader first. This can apply to any child for whom conversations and social situations are challenging. This 1:1 session allows us to provide conversational practice such as sharing special interests and how to talk about YOUR special interests in a way that engages others. Students will explore the rhythms of conversations and will build confidence in sharing their special interests with the session leader. They will learn strategies for self-advocacy and build strategies to identify and voice their own needs in a social group. Learners will feel confident joining ARI's "Making Friends" groups. Carly has been running inclusive and supportive social groups for kids for over 10 years. With her Bachelor's of Child and Youth Care, with early childhood education specialization from the University of Victoria, she has years of experience coaching the anatomy of conversation and is constantly learning about humans. Carly coaches all of instructors in the methodology of this class to provide consistency.
