This is a fast-paced vocabulary class. It is designed to fit into a one week schedule. Again, It moves very fast. There will be homework on learning root words and affixes every night of the class. This class requires some memorization of root words and affixes each night. 

Day 1 Monday -  Introduction to Latin and Greek Root words and Affixes. Why do we need to know if the roots are Latin or Greek based? How did these two languages come to make up 80 plus percent of English vocabulary. Homework for the first 25 words on the provided 100 root word list will be assigned and due the following day. We will use these words to play a learning game on Tuesday. 

Day 2 Tuesday -  We will check the homework from Monday in the first few minutes of class. We will go over the second 25 words on the provided 100 root word list (including affixes) and then play a learning game over Monday's 25 words. Homework assigned over the second 25 words. These words will be used in the game(s) on Wednesday. 

Day 3 Wednesday - We will check the homework from Tuesday in the first few minutes of class. We will go over the third 25 words on the provided 100 root word list (including affixes) and then play a learning game over Tuesday's 25 words. Homework will be assigned over the third 25 words. These words will be used in the game(s) on Thursday.  

Day 4 Thursday - We will check the homework from Wednesday in the first few minutes of class. We will go over the fourth 25 words on the provided 100 root word list (including affixes) and then play a learning game over Wednesday's 25 words. Homework will be assigned over the fourth 25 words. These words will be used in the game on Friday.  

Day 5 Friday - We will check the homework from Thursday in the first few minutes of class. We will play a game using Thursday's fourth set of words. Finally, time permitting, we will play a comprehensive game using random words from the entire 100 root word list as a final exam (review) 

The 1 to 2 hour time used outside of class will be for the learner to complete the assigned homework, which will be multiple choice, and to memorize the 25 words from indicated from the 100 word list. A grade for the class (English vocabulary credit) can be given should a parent request it.
