Before or during your learner’s first session, I offer an optional baseline assessment in reading and/or math to better understand your child’s current skill level. This helps me identify strengths, areas for growth, and where to begin instruction. The assessment is informal and stress-free—designed to guide instruction, not to grade your learner. In this personalized 1-on-1 tutoring class, learners in grades 2-6 will recieve targeted support in reading and/or math based on their individual needs and goals. Whether your child is working to build foundational skills, catch up, stay on grade level, or move ahead, each session is tailored to meet them where they are and help them grow. Depending on the learner's goals and grade level, sessions may focus on reading comprehension strategies, fluency, phonics, vocabulary development, written responses to reading, or math concepts such as number sense, operations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division), problem-solving, fractions, place value, and geometry. Parents may submit current schoolwork, curriculum information, or request a baseline assessment to help guide instruction. Each session includes a brief warm up to activate prior knowledge, a mini-lesson with clear modeling and visuals, interactive practice through games or problem-solving, and a closing review. Instruction is delivered using Google Slides, whiteboard demonstrations, and engaging digital tools. Learners will participate actively throughout the session through discussion, guided practice, questions, and games. My teaching style is warm, supportive, and student centered. I believe that every child learns differently, and I strive to create a positive learning environment where students feel comfortable taking risks, making mistakes, and growing their confidence. This tutoring experience is fully interactive. Learners will receive my full attention and guidance throughout each session.

This class uses a variety of educator-created materials and trusted educational resources aligned with grade-level standards. Instructional content includes original slides, informal assessments, and interactive activities designed by me. I also incorporate reputable tools and platforms such as ReadWorks.org for reading comprehension passages, 99math for engaging practice games, Google Classroom for optional assignments and communication, and UFLI (University of Florida Literacy Institute) resources as needed for phonics and foundational reading support. All materials are selected with the learner's needs in mind and are used in accordance with Outschool's content policy.

I hold a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education and have experience teaching in the public school setting, where I worked with students across a range of abilities and grade levels. I have over two years of classroom experience supporting learners in both reading and math. I student taught in 2nd, 4th, and 5th grade, and tutored virtually.
