Welcome!

Kindly complete the following three questions upon enrolment:

1. Which areas in math would your child need assistance in? Some examples are: multi-digit addition and subtraction, 3-digit by 1-digit and 4-digit by 1-digit multiplication. Kindly provide one or two math skills for us to begin with. We will be working through elements from the common core curriculum.

Through Grade 4, we will work through:

Operations and Algebraic Thinking: 
*Solving multi-step word problems using up to four operations
*Determine factor pairs in the range from 1-100
*Prime versus composite numbers
*Number and shape pattern identities

Numbers and Operations in Base Ten
*Place value of multi-digit numbers
*Comparing and ordering multi-digit numbers
*Rounding to any given place
*Add/subtract multi-digit whole numbers
*Multiply a three-digit or four-digit number by a one-digit number
*Multiply 2, two-digit numbers
*Division up to 4 digits

Numbers and Operations: Fractions
*Compare two fractions with unlike numerators and denominators
*Equivalent fractions
*Multiply a fraction by a whole number
*Compare decimal fractions

Measurement and Data
*Unit conversions
*Perimeter and area of shapes
*Measurement with fractions on a line plot
*Measure angles with a protractor

Geometry
*Identify lines and angles

2. What is your child's learning style(s)? Is your child an audio, visual, or movement based learner? 

3. What are your child's interests (e.g. dance, soccer, video games)? We can incorporate these interests into the learning to make the learning as fun and engaging as possible. 

During your child's classes, your child and I will work on developing their math skills through a variety of activities (e.g. slides, games, discussion). We will also work on nurturing confidence and motivation toward their skills.

After each class, your child will receive extra questions to complete. As parents/guardians, you will receive a summary of what was worked on in class and where we will be going next in our math tutoring.
