グループ体験

Minecraft players in this group will learn about how to create and share videos using the YouTube platform. They will share their own YouTube projects to get feedback from their peers and also get new ideas as they watch the projects posted by their classmates! This is a safe space for students to share their fun stories, epic triumphs, and creative projects in an engaging forum where they can make new friends that share their interests! New aspiring YouTubers and veteran YouTubers are welcome! Experienced YouTubers can share what worked for them as they worked to grow their channel while new YouTubers can use these lessons from their peers as they develop a strategy!

As the moderator and teacher, each week, I will provide the learners with a video theme description and an example video produced by me that demonstrates the assignment. Learners are encouraged to make their own content ideas, but will have these examples provided and are welcome to recreate the teacher example for the week as their project. I will encourage students to use guiding questions to give supportive feedback to one another.

Each week, I will post example video projects and invite the learners to share their new and current projects of the week! Each theme will focus on a different aspect of being a content creator. Some of the example themes are:

1.) Instructional Videos (Developing clear directions that are easy to follow)
2.) Survival Series (Keep audience engaged by explaining your strategy)
3.) Minigame of the week showcase (Research and explanation)
4.) Tips and Tricks videos (Explaining how it works and how it is useful)
5.) More ideas brainstormed by the group!

After creating their projects, learners will use guided questions to help them think about what they learned during the creation process:

1.) What went well? Why do you think it went well?
2.) What do you feel could be improved? Would you change anything?
3.) What lessons did you learn from this week's project?

Then, learners can react to the posts made by their peers:

1.) What about this project inspired you?
2.) What do you hope to see more of?

The group forum will be moderated by me. All learners are expected to be respectful to the other learners in the group and follow the group participation guidelines. I will review these projects each week and give feedback as well. I will guide the learners in how to collaborate and provide each other with supportive feedback. I will remind learners when necessary that we are all a team and the goal of the group is for us to improve all together. Any content that goes against the Outschool policy as defined by the group participation guidelines will be removed from the forum.

**Parents, students are not required to have a YouTube account as they can post their videos directly to the forum. YouTube is intended for age 13 and older, however, students younger than 13 are able to create a YouTube channel as long as a parent approves the child's account. For more information, here is a link to the parent resources on YouTube:

Note - For best results, a computer, keyboard, and mouse would be useful for creating video projects for this group.
