The goal of this class is to complete collaborative assignments in writing to prepare for writing at the college level. Students will gain confidence writing on their own and gain the skills needed to write at the college level successfully. 

In this class, we may discuss controversial topics and read articles about issues that students may or may not have strong opinions on, and class discussion will address the strengths, weaknesses, and opposing viewpoints at all times in order to provide a fair and balanced perspective. We spend a lot of time in the "grey area" of issues in order to look at all the sides.

After class, students may choose to complete their writing response by applying our class lesson and discussion to their work and send it to the teacher for feedback.
