このクラスで学べること
This class is for young creatives who want to explore the exciting world of filmmaking—from idea to final shot. Learners will go step-by-step through the filmmaking process: writing a script, planning scenes, storyboarding, directing, and even basic editing guidance (if they’re ready for it). Each learner will have a chance to develop their own short film idea, and we’ll support each other through the creative process. Learners can work solo or in small virtual groups depending on comfort level and interest. The focus is on storytelling, creative direction, and learning how to bring a vision to life using tools they already have (phones, tablets, or simple editing apps). Each class includes: Creative brainstorming and writing prompts Lessons on story structure and screenplay formatting Scene planning and shot design Directing tips for working with actors (or acting yourself!) Sharing progress and giving positive feedback No fancy equipment required—just creativity, a willingness to try, and the excitement of making something you created. Monthly Film Focus (subject to change): ⇢ May 2025: Comedy Shorts ⇢ June 2025: Mystery & Detective Stories ⇢ July 2025: Sci-Fi & Fantasy Films ⇢ August 2025: Mockumentaries & Parodies ⇢ September 2025: Character-Driven Films ⇢ October 2025: Spooky & Suspenseful Shorts ⇢ November 2025: Heartfelt & Family-Themed ⇢ December 2025: Holiday Mini-Movies ⇢ January 2026: New Year, New Visions ⇢ February 2026: Films About Friendship & Love ⇢ March 2026: School Life & Coming-of-Age ⇢ April 2026: Celebration of Student Films! Weekly, this class will follow a simple structure of WRITE, FILM, DIRECT, EDIT AND SHOWCASE Your own film based off the Monthly theme. For example, the Month of May is focused on Comedy Shorts. Therefore, the weekly class will look like this: MAY: COMEDY SHORTS ⇢ 1st week of May: Class instruction/Writing and Production Notes ⇢ 1st week of May: Class instruction/Filming and Directing Notes ⇢ 3rd week of May: Class instruction/Editing and Finishing Notes ⇢ 4th week of May: Class viewing/Showcasing Your Film Note: You will be filming during each class to develop the techniques that you will use out of class to write, film, direct and finish your film.

Some of my TV credits are: D on TV, I Love DFW, D Magazine's The Best & the Worst, InStyle Dining, 'Bee' The Best with Thelma (50+ episodes), Travel with Marsaille, The Hard Start, C3 Challenge, Valencia, and A Veteran's Soul.
I also have experience writing and directing creative projects—from plays to poetry to short films—and I bring that passion into every class. My goal is to help learners feel proud of their ideas, develop real creative skills, and walk away with a project they can truly call their own.

In addition, I’m a certified substitute teacher, and through my experience, I’ve witnessed how a lack of reading and spelling skills can negatively affect a child’s self-esteem. When children don’t know how to read or spell, they often disengage and may act out, masking their frustration as rebellion.
