Students will explore the evolution of the F6F Hellcat as the U.S. Navy’s carrier fighter of choice. Moving from the F2A Buffalo to the F4F Wildcat we will discuss how engineers learned to build a fighter than can launch and land from a carrier and go head to head with the Japanese Zero.
