- Analyze the role of Catholic Church leaders used to unify and centrally govern expanding territories with diverse populations.
-  Assess the demographic, economic, and religious impact of the plague on Europe.
-  Analyze the role of religion and economics in shaping medieval Europe’s social hierarchy, and evaluate the impact these hierarchical structures had on the lives of various groups of people.
-  Determine the extent to which interaction between the Islamic world and medieval Europe increased trade, enhanced technology innovation, and impacted scientific thought and the arts.
- Explain how major events are related to one another in time.

I have been a middle/high school Social Studies teacher for the last four years. I currently hold a 7-12 Social Studies teaching license in the state of Ohio and a Bachelor of Arts in History. I have covered the Middle Ages with my students over the past four years, and have refined these lessons to be very engaging and impactful.

An optional activity will be given each week to supplement the lesson. Students will have the opportunity to ask questions and talk about the activity in each class. The activities will take 30 minutes or less.

Students will complete formative assessments throughout the duration of the course. Students will be evaluated on comprehension via a summative assessment in the form of a Kahoot.
