This three session camp is designed to help all teens, especially those with ADHD and other learning differences improve their working memory by learning note taking strategies that allow them to record their ideas quickly and efficiently during class, then use out of class time to take the brief notes and turn them into an effective study tool they can use in the future. Students will have the opportunity to learn, practice, and evaluate a variety of note taking strategies. They also learn strategies on how to use their notes as an effective study tool.
Bridget Smith is a teacher and parent with ADHD. Her focus on Outschool is supporting students with ADHD, other neurodiverse learners, and students with learning differences. She has taught over 2000 learners with ADHD and executive function challenges here on Outschool. She is a credentialed teacher who has taught preschoolers through adult learners. Bridget is credentialed by the State of California to teach K-12 Students.
Sometimes handouts in the form of graphic organizers, articles or excerpts for reading, or note taking sheets will be posted for print out before the class meeting. Pens, pencils, paper, and colored pencils or pens are always handy to have available for my classes. Highlighters and post it notes may be used for some sessions. I will also offer Google Doc version if possible.
