Come and join us as we take a look at the incredibly brave actions of Irena Sendler. During WWII, she helped save over 2500 during the Holocaust. We will discuss her life, the Warsaw ghettos, how she smuggled out 2500 children under the Nazi's nose, and why she kept their names in a jar. We talk about the Jars of Hope project and how her story came to the publics attention. The first 30-40 minutes of the class will consist of a powerpoint presentation that will contain some videos. The last 10-15 minutes of class will be an open discussion of what we have learned and answer any questions that the students may have.
