このクラスで学べること

In this class, students will get to discuss the FRIST FIVE Wings of books. It is recommended that students have read all 5 of the books that comprise the first story arc so as not to receive spoilers. The first five titles are as follows.
      1 The Dragonet Prophecy
      2 The Lost Heir
      3 The Hidden Kingdom
      4 The Dark Secret
      5 The Brightest Night

At the beginning of the class we will discuss the first story arc, discussion questions may vary but may include:
Who was your favorite dragon in the first book and did that change throughout the first five books?
What was the most surprising plot twist?
What is your favorite dragon tribe and why?
If you were a dragon which tribe would you want to be and why?
If you were to make up your own dragon tribe what would it be?

After discussing the series we will start to work on our short story ideas. Students can come ready with an idea or can come up with an idea in class with the help of their peers. We will come up with our stories during class and students will write the stories after class. Students will have 2 weeks to write and post their stories in the classroom, stories should be between approximately 500 -2,000 words. Students who are not comfortable typing can have someone type it for them if needed.

Once the stories are posted in the classroom students will be able to go through and read their classmates' work. I will ask them to comment on the stories of two of their classmate by answering the following questions.
What was your favorite part of the story?
Is there anything you would change?
Was anything about the story surprising?

I will also give private feedback to each student. The feedback with focus on the story itself more than on the spelling and grammar. This class is designed to help students build a love of writing.

All of my classes are designed to be inclusive of students of all abilities. If your student has any need I should be aware of or needs any accommodations please let me know and we will work together to ensure the best possible class experience.

My name is Gabrielle, I started teaching sewing lessons when I was a homeschool senior. I taught classes at a local home school group and discovered I had a passion for teaching. When I was 19 I discovered I was most likely autistic and was able to get an official diagnosis at 21. For me, this was a revelation and explained so much. It meant I was able to seek out others like me and was a huge game-changer for me.

For over 10 years now I have been teaching in different capacities and working with children with different disabilities and differences. I have been an in-home caregiver for a physically disabled child, a preschool teacher, a teacher's aid, a tutor and have been teaching online since January 2020. I also have an Associates' degree in special education.

I am proud to be autistic. This doesn't mean I don't have struggles but I firmly believe that we all have strengths and weaknesses. I strive to give all of my students a safe and welcoming place. All of my classes are inclusive which means students of all abilities are welcome. If your student needs any accommodations please let me know and we will work together to ensure the best possible class experience.
